What is Diablo II?:
If you don't know what Diablo is, than you must have been living in a deep hole somewhere, or are from Utah. Basically, Diablo is an RPG that takes place in a town, Tristram , trapped in the mist of evil. You play the hero who has journeyed here to find the cause of the problem, and destroy the evil force behind it. You have the choice of 5 different character classes. |

Talking to the different towns folk, you learn a little of the history of the town. You find that the past king was at first a fine king, but then things started becoming unstable. The king believed that his cabinet was corrupt and worshiped evil. He also felt that a neighboring nation was going to attack, he declared war against them, and sent out an army. At the same time, his son vanished. Believing that the towns folk were responsible he sacked the town. Before completely destroying the town, his troops from the war returned in defeat and after seeing what happened they went forward to stop the king. A battle raged forward into the labyrinth below the town, and before his death he placed a curse on all those who went against him and condemned them to "unlife of eternal damnation." | |
Basic Strategy Tips: General Tips: Pick up every item you come across. You never know what it might do for you. If the item turns out to be useless, then sell it. Money is good. Everybody need healing or mana in the field, so being able to afford potions is a definite plus. Don't waste money on useless items and don't waste money on upgrades if you don't really need them. Early in the game, it is best to budget your money evenly between health and weaponry. However, enemies drop potions a good deal of the time. Also use the different shrines that you come across, they are quite useful. Once you start getting killer armor and weapons, the game will be no sweat. Use of the special abilities of each character is also a must. Only distribute points toward skills that you like the most. I have found that it is a good idea to save skill points for better skill acquired as you level up. Barbarian: Similarly to the warrior in the Diablo I, your greatest ally is brute strength. A unique ability that only Barbarians have is the "Double Attack." This allows you to attack with 2 weapons at the same time or even attack with 2 two-handed weapons. This can be very useful when you find yourself surrounded by many enemies. Another great ability of the barbarian is the "Jump Attack." When used, you leap into the air and pounce on enemies dealing and generally deal a great deal of damage. Always attack one enemy at a time until it is destroyed, and try not to get cornered. Always have plenty of potions for healing. Since Barbarian attacks are generally up close and personal, you will be taking allot of damage. Amazon: Use projectile weapons. You can hit stuff along way away before it even has a chance to hit you. Plus, most of the Amazon's special abilities are geared towards enhancing arrows or spears. Hold the SHIFT key and then click on targets. This holds your character in one place while you fire your bow. If you don't your character tries to get close, and that could be dangerous. Move around as much as possible. Shoot run shoot run is the best strategy. Always have potions on hand, because you still may get hit now and then, especially by other bowman and wizards. Also it is not always possible to get out of the fray so be sure to have some melee weapons on hand. Sorceress: Attack from afar with you magic. Stay out of the fray when possible, and have lots of mana potions and life potions on you. Your staff can also be used as a hand to hand combat weapon, so even if you run out of mana, you can still fight.
